I went canoeing with my bf a few weekends ago and it was so much fun! I was a little nervous at first because all the reviews for this place were really old. We rented a canoe for 4 hours and enjoyed every second of it. The lady up front was superrr nice and she was very open to rescheduling because of weather. My bf and I tried on life jackets while she grabbed our canoe and paddles and she pushed us out into the water. There are two paths, a scenic path and a path with food, both are very pretty though. We saw so many animals but I could only take pictures of so many. When you go to the restaurants you do have to tie up your boat yourself but that's super easy like even I figured it out. There are two restaurants on the path, a bar type restaurant and a seafood restaurant. We went to the bar and i'd definitely recommend it! Overall we had sooo much fun and I can't wait to come back again!!

Normally we book the longest trip available when kayaking, but we were traveling home to Missouri, so tried to squeeze in a short paddle. We did the 4 hour rental and paddled up the Harrod's Creek about 2 hours, then back. It was a perfect paddle for us. You'll pass a lot of houses and apartments, but it gradually grows more and more rustic, wooded banks and lots of wildlife. It must of been peak season for turtles as we were passing them the whole trip, sprawled out on logs sunning themselves. This provided lots of entertainment for us and I wish I had brought my nicer camera along for better shots from a distance. We also had a nice buck walk out of the woods, stare at us, then drink from the creek then slowly disappear back into the woods. Watched herons wade along the shoreline and fly up creek looking for a new place to fish. Spotted a bald eagle too. Motor boats are allowed here too. We only came across two of them as most probably head out to the Ohio River, but they were very kind and we had plenty of room to move aside while they passed. The kayaks were nice, stable, and steered well. We got lucky and had the most perfect weather for a float. Would be excellent for beginners, families with small kids, or anyone like us....just looking for a nice relaxing paddle.

Nachand Canoe & Kayak was the perfect spot for a daddy and son afternoon! From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming and made everything super easy -- check-in, life jackets, and launching were all smooth. We rented both a paddleboard and a kayak so we could switch it up, and both were in great condition. Harrods Creek was calm, peaceful, and full of wildlife. We spotted turtles, birds, and even deer along the way. It was such a safe and relaxing environment, which made it even better for enjoying time together without worry. The whole experience felt like a mini adventure but without the stress. Prices were fair, the equipment was top notch, and the setting was beautiful. We laughed, paddled, raced a little, and just had the best bonding time.I highly recommend Nachand for anyone looking for a fun, family-friendly way to spend an afternoon. We'll definitely be back!

Took 2 grandsons, age 7 and 10 in three person canoe. I highly recommend this activity. Scheduled and paid online and finished waivers. When I arrived they checked the schedule saw everything complete and immediately put the canoe out. I was worried about getting three people in without tipping canoe. Not to worry. They had us get on vests, sit in out seat and gave us paddles on the bank and then the staff just slid the canoe into the water while we were seated. We only lasted 2 hours because of midday heat but the creek in navigable for much longer. We kept a count of what birds and waterlife we encountered. There are otters but we did not see them. Staff very helpful and friendly. Excellent family activity

How did I not know this place existed?! And 20 minutes from my home, no less. We had a wonderful day on the water exploring Harrod’s Creek and didn’t have to worry about portaging like you do this time of year, late summer, in a lot of places. Got a decent workout in also. Customer service was phenomenal. Kind people. Good equipment. Great experience at an honest price. We’ll be back and soon!

Great kayak rental spot close to the city. Booked a day in advance for an August Saturday afternoon & it was beautiful weather. They helped push us in and out at the launch. Leisurely 2 hour kayak to the left to the waterfall is worth doing. Some people seemed to have trouble finding it, look for a small trickle of water over a large bunch of rocks on your right hand side and climb up there. It is super super shallow right before it, you can’t miss it. Good balance and/or sturdy shoes recommended although it was doable in sandals just be careful. Lovely quiet river, I didn’t think it was too crowded. Did also see turtles, fish, different birds, and one deer.

This was such a great weekend excursion. A friend and myself showed up without booking in advance, we were greeted and swiftly taken care of. I highly recommend making your way to the waterfall. On this adventure we did manage to make it back an hour and a half late, however, the owner was kind enough to not make us feel awful about it. I can’t recommend this place enough!

We loved our time kayaking. Booking was easy, check in was a breeze, kayaks are in great shape and loved that they had storage. Heading up the river to the right, we loved the restaurants available and stopped into one. Would absolutely book with them again.

We actually arrived almost an hour early and the guy was super nice. He said no problem, we can go ahead & goout, he got us ready and sent us on our way. The views were amazing, it was very peaceful. We paddled some & floated, taking in all of the scenery. We saw a couple otters who made homes in the banks. They would come in & out of the holes. We Also saw a momma deer and her 2 babies. The babies were having a great time playing on the bank of the water. Was a little disappointed bc we never saw the waterfall but all the other things made up for it. Just a great trip, helps you reset & just get mental clarity & peace.

Love this place! Seems to be busy, so be sure to book ahead and show up on time. The creek is plenty deep with very few hazards. Great for beginners, families, and those looking for a simple and relaxing paddle. There is not much current, which is great for paddling up stream to see some nature, but also means you'll be paddling a lot if you wish to cover a lot of distance. Great fun place with fair prices! I hope to come back many many times!

Three of us went kayaking yesterday morning in single kayaks along Harrods Creek. It was calm, peaceful, and fun meeting people as we pladdled along the creek. Plus, there were plenty of shady places to get out of the sun. The customer service was very good and everybody was super friendly. I would suggest bringing lunch and having a picnic. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Harrods creek is such a great asset for Louisville. The creek is a fabulous oasis close to the city, and Nachand canoe & kayak makes it accessible to everybody. The operation is run very well. We had a 3 person canoe, which was very comfy with back supported seats. During 4h tour we saw a lot of wildlife and totally relaxed.

Beautiful , hidden gem in Prospect, KY. The weather was just perfect. We went the scenic route to the left. Got to hike up to the waterfall. In May, all the animals had their babies with them. We got the 4 hour kayaking and it was a good amount of time- we actually got back early. Would definitely do it again and recommend it.

Such a peaceful afternoon on Harrods Creek! The scenery was beautiful and we had the creek mostly to ourselves until about 3:00. The “path” is easy but you must paddle ; no current to carry you. Definitely will go again!

Love this place! I’ve been twice and will continue to go back. Definitely worth the money, since the kayaks are in great shape, they give you a nice little seat pad, friendly staff, free sunscreen in case you forget yours, and of course Harrod’s creek is beautiful & calm. The 4 hour time frame is perfect for this creek, as well :)

Took 2 kayaks out for 4 hours. One for an old dude, and another for a 9 year old. We went upstream for about 1 hour, back down for an hour, and past the landing to a resturant about .25 or .5 miles south of the landing. Had an ok lunch, and back up to the landing. Kiddo wanted to try a paddle board, so we asked if she could hop on one for a few minutes, and was accommodated. Kiddo doesn't feel safe on it :) We'll be back for more kayaking, though. Lots of shade, but probably want to wear sunscreen. Paddling is easy, no big current or wind to fight against.

Great day to be out on the water. The staff was friendly and the rentals were in great shape. They even had a sunscreen station set up for folks if they had forgotten their protection. Sign in was easy. Just scan the code and away you go!! Can't wait to come back for another run.

I got two single kayaks and we went opposite the direction of the Ohio. We booked around 10am and I think we were the first people there. It was very nice, saw lots of turtles and ducks. Very peaceful and relaxing and can be a great work out if you want it to be. The staff was very positive and professional. I definitely want to go back so we can kayak toward to Ohio and stop off for lunch. 10/10 would recommend and will return! It's a little pricey but was completely worth it in my opinion-- because unless you own kayaks or want to drive quite a ways, this is a great deal to just stay in the city and have a kayak adventure.

We reserved our kayaks online a few days before our trip.

The morning of our reservation, the staff at Nachand emailed us to see if we'd like to reschedule since the weather forecast was predicting a chance of rain for the last two hours of our reservation time. We decided there
to keep our original reservation since it there was only a small chance of rain.

The staff on-site was super nice. They helped us load into the water & helped us get out. The staff at Nachland are great! Helpful and polite. We enjoyed our 4 hour rental, but being novices, went a little too far up the creek and had to really hustle to get back in time! Totally our fault - we'll know better next time. Also, be aware that there's not really an easy place to get out and stretch your legs. Harrod's Park has an easily missed "put-in" along the creek, but there isn't a place to beach your kayak - at least not on the stretch we kayaked. Otherwise we had a great time and highly recommend Nachland!

Such a fun trip! I’ve never kayaked so was really afraid I couldn’t do it, but the staff were so joyful in helping me! They were so encouraging and kind! We were a party of 5 and everyone enjoyed our 4 hour trip! No one fell in the water, but being a planner, I had purchased a dry bag from Dick’s Sporting Goods for $15 to put our phones and car keys inside. Don’t let it stop you if you’re overweight either, the kayaks can hold 300 pounds and are quite stable to be in. The staff help you get in and out of the boat safely and joyfully! I’m not even being sarcastic, they were great! Being on the water was peaceful, as Harrods Creek is very still water. We saw lots of turtles and birds, neat birds nests under the bridge, and just lush greenery all around! Also, we were told not to leave anything of value in our car because there have been break-ins up under the bridge. We had no problem but just letting unaware visitors know. Highly recommend this business!

I have passed their location and sign many times without ever realizing what was there. I wanted to go Kayaking over the holiday so I went online to make a reservation. I thought I had put in for Monday and the time I wanted but when it confirmed, it gave me a Tuesday confirmation day and time. I called and Forrest answered the phone and was very helpful and polite. He explained that someone would resolve my issue and get back with me. The owner (I assume) emailed me with options for my reservation which ended up working out fine. We arrived and were helped in and out of our kayaks with no issue. We took the four hour trip and the route was easy to navigate and not many areas too shallow to go through. There was a lot of traffic on the creek so many were taking advantage of the holiday and the beautiful weather but it made for a little congestion along the way in some points. The workers spoke of a park about 2 hours in but we aren't sure if we ever found it. A guide map might be helpful in the future. We did encounter two different boats with motors about an hour into our trip and it didn't appear to be an area that a boat with a motor should go since it was shallow and there were many canoes and kayaks in their path. We had an excellent time and enjoyed the route as well as the staff. I will definitely be going again. Parking is limited but they emailed me letting me know the parkling lot was full and where there was alternative parking (which wasn't far). I was glad they did because the driveway to their location is gravel and narrow so not something you want to go down only to not find any parking. The pricing is very reasonable so make sure and tip your staff! Thanks for giving me and my friends something fun to do in our own backyard!
